Mother and her Twin Fawns

These two little Deer were brand new when this was filmed. They were still a little unsure on their feet. We see these little ones quite frequently up near our shop. They are pretty big now and between Mom and the twins they eat all sorts of things. It is still a treat to see them.

Winter Waterfront

Vacation-rental-home-winter-viewThis is the stunning view on the waterfront. The waterfront is quiet at this time of year, yet it is teaming with life, including crab…yummie!! Many a great meal can be found just off the property. Madrona Cove House is a crabbers paradise.

The Juan de Fuca Marine Trial

East Sooke is not only a very beautiful place but a vast wealth of knowledge exists here.  I had the pleasure (and a bit of pain) at Cindy’s Serenity today.  Cindy is a much more than our local talented massage therapist.  She has a vast knowledge of how the body works.
After my wonderful massage Cindy suggested that I read a book written by a local author.  The book is called Master Your Health written by Donald C Mills.  After reading a few chapters I was curious about the author…Well Don is more that just a health writer.  He has also written two local guidebooks that are invaluable, Giant Sands White Cedars as well as  the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail Guidebook.
That just confirms that this area is not just rich with beauty.  Down any road in the area there are so many people with a vast array of gifts!

The “New” room aka the Rock room

Sooke BC Vacation Rental Home - Madrona Cove House Rock Room

Madrona Cove House - The Rock Room - Flat Screen TV Viewing Area

We have added the “rock room” in the basement – sorry Led Zeppelin is not included!  What is included is an other 500 sq feet and the main television now lives there.

We will be adding a small wood stove and finishing that rock work to reflect the out door rock wall.   The room gives the house quite an other feel and the views from the basement have made it all worth while.

The space gives large groups more space and privacy.  It has a geothermal bonus too – cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Blackrock at the Beach

Madrona Cove Beachfront in Sooke BC - The Blackrock

This rock has little tide pools in it and is a very popular spot with those who enjoy the seashore.  Seagulls are very comfortable on this rock.  The Gulls enjoy dining at the “rock” the menu is limited but the portions of muscles, clams and crab seem plentiful.
